Assalamualaikum hi. Welcome to today's lesson.

Paraphrasing means rewriting a sentence using different words without changing its meaning. These are how you can paraphrase :

1. Replace words with synonyms

Use words that have the same or similar meaning.

2. Change the sentence structure

Say the same thing in a different way.

Original: Sarah finished her homework before dinner.

Paraphrased: Before dinner, Sarah finished her homework.

3. Change the word form

Use a different form of the same word.

4. Change active and passive voice (when suitable)

Active: The teacher praised the students.

Passive: The students were praised by the teacher.

5. Combine or split ideas

Sometimes you can combine two short sentences or split one long sentence.

Original: Ali studied hard. He passed the test.

Paraphrased: Because Ali studied hard, he passed the test.
